Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role is for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is also known for her role in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four brothers and sisters. As a young girl, she wanted to become a reporter for the court. In highschool, when she started modeling commercials, she moved to New York. Her first job acting was as a young girl in the soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional has not been successful and happy. The talented actor has been battling alcoholism as well as two marriages that failed. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
