Asha Ashanti is an African-Jamaican screenwriter, actor, and singer. Her work is best known as the Melody Jones drummer of Josie and the Pussycats in CW's Riverdale. Asha has also appeared as Zadie Wells on Netflix's smash show Locke and Key. She is the author of HURRICANE SUMMER, and SONGS OF IRIE. The sweeping debut film of actress Asha Bromfield takes readers to the very heart of Jamaica and inside the mind of a girl trying to reconcile her family and self against the backdrop of a Hurricane.
